Pineapple Upside down Cake-Fruit Recipe

Pineapple is an excellent source of vitamin C which is required for proper synthesis of the body. It is rich in B-complex group of vitamins and also contains small amount of vitamin A. These vitamins and minerals from this fruit help in protecting the human body from lung and oral cavity cancers. Even though this cake takes a little extra time to prepare, it is worthwhile to prepare it during festival seasons.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1 cup of packed dark brown sugar
  • 1  sliced pineapple
  • 6 half sliced maraschino cherries
  • 1 pack of duncan hines supreme pineapple cake mix
  • 1 box of instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 cup of pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup of canola oil
  • 4 eggs

Instructions

1. Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Melt butter in a 9 X13 pan oven and sprinkle some sugar evenly over the butter in the pan.
3. Place the canned pineapple slices evenly in pan, cutting the last two in half to cover pan.
4. Now place the maraschino cherry halves I the center of the pineapple slices.
5. In a large bowl, combine the rest of the ingredients on slow speed for about 30 minutes.
6. For 2 minutes beat the mixture in a medium pace and pour the batter into the pan.
7. Bake it for 50 minutes or until it is completely cooked and then allow it to cool down for 5 minutes before serving.

You can also add some cherries to decorate the cake and this yummy cake can fill your tummy for sure. On birthdays try making these cakes and surprise your loved ones. It takes around an hour to prepare this cake and those who enjoy cooking and want to try new experiments can try this out.
