Double-Nut Stuffed Figs
Double-nut stuffed figs are a classic Mediterranean dessert. They are made by stuffing a whole fig with a combination of nuts, such as almonds, hazelnuts, and pistachios. The figs are then baked until they are softened and the nuts are lightly browned. The double-nut stuffed figs can be served as a dessert, snack, or accompaniment to a cheese platter. They are also a great addition to any holiday spread.

Ingredients
- 12 fresh figs
- 1/2 cup mixed nuts such as almonds, hazelnuts, and/or pistachios – 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Optional: additional nuts or dried fruit for garnish
Procedure
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice off the stem end of the figs and gently squeeze the sides to open them.
- Place the mixed nuts in a food processor and pulse until finely chopped.
- In a small bowl, mix together the chopped nuts, honey, melted butter, and cinnamon.
- Stuff each fig with the nut mixture and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the figs are softened and the nuts are lightly browned.
- Serve warm as a dessert, snack, or accompaniment to a cheese platter. Enjoy!
