Fertilization

The act or course of initiating biological reproduction by insemination and pollination.



Fig

A soft, sweet, thin-fleshed fruit with carries many small edible seeds. There are over 620 varieties of figs, which could vary in color from white, green, brown, red, and also purple with shapes that range from round to oval. Fig trees are native to Mediterranean regions and Western Asia, but are grown in many other temperate areas as well. Some of the common varieties of figs are normally classified by color in food stores as black, green, and purple figs. However, many fig producers classify their figs simply as green and yellow varieties or also dark varieties.



Fleshy fruits

Fleshy fruits can be of several different descriptions or varieties, but major category comes to mind right away: drupes, berries, and from pomes.



Follicle fruit

A Follicle is a dry dehiscent fruit formed from one carpel. It contains one or many seeds.



Fruit

The edible part of a plant, shrub, or tree also developed from a flower and consisting of one or more seeds and the mass of juicy flesh that is used as food.



Feijoa

Feijoa fruit, growing in autumn, is green, ellipsoid, and about the size of a chicken egg. It has a sweet, aromatic flavor. The tissue is juicy and is divided in to a clear jelly-like seed pulp as well as a firmer, slightly granular, opaque flesh nearer the skin. The fruit drops when ready and at its fullest flavor, but may be plucked from the tree proceeding to the drop to prevent bruising.
